Who I am, and why I do what I do?

My name is Ellie Asphar. I'm a passionate and caring horsewoman with over 15 years working alongside horses, and with almost 3000 race rides as professional Jockey I've seen my fair share of horses and saddles. Over the years, as my racing career was coming to an end I found my interests drawn towards the relationship between horse biomechanics / ergonomics and horse behaviour.
Post-jockey life, this interest has grown into a passion which has also been a catalyst for my enthusiasm in Showing and Eventing. Throughout my racing career, I developed relationships with a number of the horses I rode; 2 of which (Nigel and Bullet) I now call my own. As we all learn the ropes of eventing together, my previous passion for biomechanics and ergonomics has continued to grow... which brings us to today, and my connection with Schleese.
Schleese helps horses and riders worldwide with the design, manufacture, and distribution of innovative, infinitely adjustable, anatomically appropriate saddles with an emphasis on saddles for women. They are known throughout the horse industry worldwide, as "The Female Saddle Specialists".I am bringing the Schleese Saddle brand to Western Australia. I'm committed to not only helping my clients to find the best fit for both them and their horse, but also to educate them on how to recognise the contributing factors to have a pain free saddle fit, guided by the Saddlefit4Life philosophy.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences with everyone here, and to help foster a better environment and relationship for all of my clients and their horses.
